Community Brand Building &
Experience Design
I led community brand building and experience design for The Art of Life NOW Gallery in downtown Grand Rapids, spearheading the full marketing strategy for ArtPrize 2026. I built and executed a multi-channel campaign that drove foot traffic, amplified local awareness, and positioned the gallery as a must-visit ArtPrize destination featuring more than 60 registered artists.
Social media was the engine. I produced reels, hype campaigns, ticket promotions, and live streams to spotlight a high-energy stage lineup including a film premiere, comedy and poetry performances, live animal experiences, fashion shows, and real-time art competitions. The goal was simple: fill the space, sell tickets, and keep the momentum building.
I also developed newsletter funnels, artist intake systems, and surveys to recruit and onboard makers for a curated Vendor Village, strengthening South Heartside’s creative economy and deepening community engagement. The result was not just an event presence but a fully activated creative ecosystem.
Beyond ArtPrize, I continue to manage the gallery’s website and social platforms, growing its digital footprint and community connection year-round.

Integrated Event & Campaign Marketing
I lead integrated campaign marketing for large-scale initiatives including MiVetCon, the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association’s annual conference. From early teaser campaigns to post-event follow-up, I build full-funnel strategies that drive registration, reinforce brand trust, and sustain momentum across email, social, web, print, and direct mail.
I design and execute segmented email campaigns, targeted social content, conference ads, magazine spreads, brochures, and mailers, managing vendor relationships to ensure brand consistency across every physical and digital touchpoint. From production to print quality, I keep the details tight.
Beyond promotion, I create onsite materials, coordinate live-event video and digital assets, and build post-event campaigns that extend engagement and measure impact. My work spans conference teasers, ads in The Michigan Veterinarian, and year-round association initiatives as needed.
This integrated approach carries into community campaigns as well. For The Art of Life NOW Gallery, I developed promotional systems for Friday Art Walk and ArtPrize, including custom punch cards, stage branding, and coordinated print and digital assets for live bands and special events. Every activation is built with one goal in mind: alignment between story, strategy, and execution across every channel.

Editorial & Publication Leadership
I am the managing editor of The Michigan Veterinarian, the quarterly print magazine for the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association. In this role, I shape each issue from the ground up, curating timely topics, writing feature stories, and collaborating with veterinarians and contributors across the state to bring their expertise to life on the page.
I guide the full editorial process from early story development through final edits, ensuring every issue feels cohesive, relevant, and aligned with the association’s mission. The result is a publication that not only informs but genuinely connects and strengthens Michigan’s veterinary community.

Mobile App Development
A tech nerd at heart, I love a good app project, and recently I built a dating app from the ground up for a client, leading the digital product strategy and UX narrative design from concept through execution. The project began with a clear problem to solve: how to create more intentional, values aligned connections in a space that often feels superficial and transactional. From early concept sketches through interface design and functionality planning, the development process centered on building a digital experience that encourages thoughtful interaction rather than endless swiping.
While the full details of the Spiritually Vibin’ app are still under wraps, the platform was designed with a clear purpose and a local foundation. Grand Rapids businesses and community spaces were part of the inspiration behind the concept, with the goal of creating connections that extend beyond the screen and into real world experiences. Built with scalability in mind, the app is being developed to begin locally while leaving room to grow and expand into new communities over time as the idea continues to evolve. We can't wait to unveil the app this spring!

Multi-Client Social Media &
Platform Management
I currently manage and facilitate social media strategy across seven active clients, developing platform-specific content systems that align with each brand’s voice, goals, and audience. My work includes editorial calendar planning, campaign execution, visual and written content development, and ongoing engagement management.
Rather than approaching social media as a posting schedule, I structure it as an extension of each organization’s broader narrative and marketing strategy, ensuring consistency, clarity, and measurable growth across platforms.

Website Strategy & Narrative Architecture
Website strategy is where my journalist brain and marketing brain happily collide. At Grand Valley State University, I teach messaging hierarchy, homepage structure, reader flow, and conversion logic, helping students understand how structure shapes understanding. Outside the classroom, I’m hired to build and manage websites for clients who are ready to move from cluttered to clear. I design user journey maps, refine brand voice, and build homepage architecture that guides visitors naturally from curiosity to action.
My decade as a newspaper journalist trained me in instinctive reader flow and visual hierarchy, so every headline, section break, and call to action has purpose. I’m fluent across multiple website platforms and have helped organizations navigate full website transitions, database reconstructions, and content migrations without losing momentum. From SEO strategy and Google Analytics to verbal and visual storytelling systems, I approach every site as a living narrative ecosystem designed to inform and engage.
